our Story

Michael Borish & Company, Inc. has focused on a range of financial and business sector activities since 1996. Apart from work in the USA and Canada, this includes direct experience in more than 60 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean.

Dr. Michael Borish has directed the company since its founding.

He has an MBA from the University of Chicago (1985), and a PhD in Management from Carleton University (2020) in Ottawa, Canada.

His PhD thesis: SME creditworthiness and financing issues: A global comparison of credit access patterns.

Current focus includes:

• Publication in mid-2026 of a handbook entitled Right-Sizing Strategic Financial Management for Small Business.
• Preparation of multiple courses and cases related to small business financial management and decision making.

The handbook will serve as a foundation piece for training, course delivery, webinars and consulting engagements. He has received copyright protection from the US Copyright Office.

MBC courses will soon be available online. MBC courses will also be submitted for accreditation to the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy in the United States for inclusion in CPA Continuing Professional Education later in 2026.
