our Story

Michael Borish & Company, Inc. has focused on a range of financial and business sector activities since 1996. Apart from work in the USA and Canada, this includes direct experience in more than 60 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean.

Dr. Michael Borish has directed the company since its founding.

He has an MBA from the University of Chicago (1985), and a PhD in Management from Carleton University (2020) in Ottawa, Canada.

His PhD thesis: SME creditworthiness and financing issues: A global comparison of credit access patterns. 

Current engagements include:

• Teaching a course to bankers from the Middle East and Africa on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Applications in SME Banking (in Dubai).
• Teaching two business history courses at the Indian Institute of Management in Rohtak, India.
• Working with the African Development Bank to help clarify and communicate a new strategic decision-making framework for application to ongoing operations.
  
  

MBC courses will be submitted for accreditation by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy in the United States for inclusion in CPA Continuing Professional Education later in 2025.

Dr. Borish has also recently published a handbook entitled Strategic Financial Management for Small Business, which serves as a foundation piece for training, course delivery, webinars and consulting engagements. He is awaiting copyright protection from the US Copyright Office.
